The Fox Valley Royals Baseball organization is managed by Andy Bisceglia, a former collegiate pitcher/outfielder with over 25 years coaching experience. In recent years Andy was an Associate Scout for the 2001 World Series Champion Arizona Diamondbacks from 2001-2012 he has also coached at the collegiate level as pitching coach at Elgin Community College from 2000-2003 Andy has assisted several Division I teams with their pitching programs and camps; most recently with Miami University, OH. Many of Andy’s players from the Royals have gone on to compete at the highest collegiate level including Arizona State, Wake Forest and the University of Illinois. Currently Andy runs the Royals program and assists several of the professional scouts in the area finding young talent. 

During the 2015 High School season, Coach Andy was asked to coach the Huntley HS Red Raiders Varsity Baseball team as their Hitting Coach.

Coach Kaz is a former minor league infielder, having played for both the San Diego Padres and Chicago Cub farm systems. In addition to his professional playing career, Randy has also worked as a professional scout in recent years with several organizations. Coach “Kaz” has been instructing & coaching for over twenty years and has been a lead instructor for many for many area camps & clinics.

Mike started his college career at Elgin Community College where he was selected as an All-American pitcher (11-0 record) in 2005. Mike went on to play for the Illinois State Redbirds in 2006-07 and led the team in saves with 6 in 2006 and had 11 starts in 2007. This will be Mike’s 8th year in the Royals program. Mike is currently the varsity pitching coach at Huntley High School. Mike is considered by many as one of the finest coaches around as his staffs at Huntley have regularly been some of the best in the area and state. Mike is an extremely valuable part of the Royals program.

 

Justin Kees

Coach Kees is formerly the Associate Head Coach at Elgin Community College. During his tenure at the college, the Spartans have averaged 44 wins a season and Coach Kees has produced three All-American pitchers.

Prior to coaching, Coach Kees played professionally in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ organization and posted a .625 winning percentage in back-to-back seasons with Lethbridge, a Rookie-Class team where he went 5-3, and High Desert, a Class-A team where he went 6-2. Coach Kees played locally with the Schaumburg Flyers. His career professional record, which spanned over four seasons, was 20-13.

In January 2002, Coach Kees was named pitching coach of the Rockford River Hawks, an independent team in the Frontier League. Under Coach Kees, Rockford’s pitching staff ranked second in the league with a 3.88 ERA. In the 2001 season, he was varsity pitching coach at Barrington High School, where he helped the staff post a 23-10 record.

Mike is a former 2 year varsity letter winner for Plainfield Central (2004-2005) and former all conference selection as a pitcher (2005).  Mike then went on to play club baseball in the National Club Baseball Association (NCBA) for both the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Iowa.  While at Illinois, Mike served as both a starting pitcher and relief pitcher, receiving 3rd team All-Region in 2006.  The Illini won the Great Lakes South Conference four years straight and won the regional tournament twice, proceeding to the NCBA World Series in Tampa, Florida twice.  Mike was one of the coaches for the 8 team in-house league held at Illinois in the fall of 2008.

A former Fox Valley Royal (1998-2000) and Andy Bisceglia student Chris has had a great career. Chris was a four-year letter winner with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, posting a 7-10 career record with three saves. As a sophomore, he earned the victory over Illinois, sending Iowa to the conference tournament for the first time since 1991. He graduated from Iowa in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in health, leisure and sports studies.

Maliszewski returned to his Alma-mater after serving two seasons as the outfield/catching instructor and recruiting coordinator at Valparaiso University. In addition to his coaching and recruiting responsibilities, he aided in the Crusaders’ youth camps.

In his first season as pitching coach for Iowa, the team’s ERA in Big Ten play improved 1.45 runs from 2008 to 2009. Furthermore, Hawkeye pitchers recorded nearly 20 less walks then the season before and over 30 strikeouts more than in 2008. Maliszewski has had nine pitchers get drafted the last four years. Steve Turnbull, Kyle Heim and Mike Schurz were selected in 2009 and Zach Robertson, Patrick Schatz and recruit Patrick Lala were chosen in 2010. Maliszewski had three players he coached or recruited drafted in 2011 and 2012: Kuebel, Dermody (selected both years) and Nick Hibbing.

Former Fox Valley Royal Kevin Kaczmarski was recognized All American 7 different times this past season.

Kevin received All-American First Team honors from Louisville Slugger, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), and Senior CLASS Award, Perfect Game USA as well as All-American Second Team honors from ABCA / Rawlings, Baseball America, and D1Baseball.

This Past June Kevin was selected by the New York Mets in the 9th round (269th pick overall) of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft earlier this month.

The University of Evansville outfielder led all Division I baseball players in batting average (.465), triples (nine), and triples per game (0.20). He was also second in the nation in on-base percentage (.543) and slugging percentage (.746), fifth in runs batted in per game (1.24), and 20th in doubles per game.

A Cary, Ill. native, Kevin led the Purple Aces this season in batting average (.465), hits (86), doubles (19), triples (nine), home runs (five), runs batted in (57), total bases (138), slugging percentage (.746), on-base percentage (.543), stolen bases (13), and fielding percentage (1.000).

His .465 batting average is the highest in single season program history. Kevins nine triples are second most for a Purple Ace and his 86 hits are eighth highest.

Kevin was the Missouri Valley Conference’s Joe Carter Player of the Year this season, the first Purple Ace in program history to receive the honor. He was also named First Team All-Conference, and selected to the MVC All-Defensive Team this spring. A three-time MVC Player of the Week this season, Kevin was also named NCBWA National Hitter of the Week (Apr. 28). He is a Dick Howser Trophy Watch List Semifinalist, a Golden Spikes Award Semifinalist, and ABCA / Rawlings All-Midwest Region First Team.

In his career, Kevin finished his time at UE second in doubles (66) and triples (22), fourth in runs batted in (171), fifth in batting average (.352), sixth in runs (169), and seventh in at-bats (841).

Also after getting drafted by the Mets Kevin led the Appalachian League (Kingsport Mets) in hitting with a .356 batting average.

Mike is a former baseball and basketball player at the collegiate level for College of Du Page and Judson University. Mike’s leadership qualities were recognized in college when captured team leader awards twice. His baseball abilities were also recognized by his coaches and fellow players two more times when he won Players/Coaches awards. He also served as the Judson University assistant men’s basketball coach in 2010-11. Currently Mike is the the Sophomore baseball coach at Saint Francis HS.

John is a left handed pitcher who started his career at Lakeland College in 2004. He went on to finish up playing at Purdue North Central in the NAIA where he lead the team his senior year with a 1.98 era. In 2009, John started his coaching career as the pitching coach for the Windy City Travelers 14U team.

Troy was a catcher at Streamwood High School for four years. His senior year he was an Academic All-Conference recipient. After he graduated he attended Edgewood College in Madison, WI and Elgin Community College to pursue a career in criminal justice, focusing solely on his studies. Troy’s first year coaching baseball was assisting with the Fox Valley Royals’ 16U teams in 2015.

Cody Beck

Cody Beck: Cody is an Outfielder/Pitcher that played collegiate baseball at Northern Illinois University from 2006-2010 He graduated with a teaching degree in Physical Education and minor in Health Education. Cody assisted in NIU’s most Mid-American Conference wins and No. 5 seed in the MAC tournament in 2007. His coaching experience includes: TSA Sports Academy from 2003-2008, NIU Top Dog Camps 2008-2009, Crystal Lake Cardinals travel camps 2007-2009. Cody has been coaching at Streamwood High School since 2011 and currently is the varsity assistant coach.

Coach Jim has several years of playing and coaching experience which includes playing at Maine South HS and the Park Ridge Legion team. His coaching years have been spent coaching high levels of travel baseball as well as little league where he received coach of the year twice in the Algonquin Organization.
